Effects of sense organs on motor outputs - Sensory signals can modify motor activity by reflex action (based on direct or polysynaptic pathways through interneurons). Sense organs can also have affects upon activities of rhythm generators (CPGs). These inputs can change the timing of motor patterns, thereby in turn affect motor activity.
